A few members of this extensive family are well adapted to greenhouse cultivation, chiefly Polypodium aureum and its varieties.

Polypodium aureum, from Australia, has creeping stems clothed with bright rusty scales, and handsome lobed foliage which may easily exceed 2 ft. in length and spread to 10 ft. across.

P.a. Areolatum, smaller, glaucous fronds.

P.a. Mayi, silvery fronds with purple veins.
