One of the most popular of greenhouse ferns and can also be grown as a house plant.

Nephrolepis exallata (sword fern), fronds 2 ft. long and from 3 to 6 in. broad, and therefore the one best adapted to general cultivation. Its many beautiful varieties, including N.e. Bostoniensis, are all well adapted to hanging baskets.
