(Acanthaceae) origin: Peru

A dwarf tropical plant, a prostrate grower and rather delicate. The leaves are roundish, about 3 to 4 in. long, and a medium green with silver veins, giving the effect of an intricate silver net over the leaf. Prefers deep shade and must be kept humid and warm (minimum 55° E. or 13° C), but never hot. Will quickly die if allowed to dry out, but over-watering will have the same effect.
