All the davallias are beautiful plants of easy cultivation in a greenhouse. The following are good subjects for hanging baskets and are rhizomatous.

D. canariensis (hare’s foot fern), 1 to 1-1/2 ft., owes its common name to the appearance of the growths of the root-stock, which curve over the sides of the pot.
